Can Candida Be Linked To Acne?
I’ve been in the beauty industry for 15 years and have always been told eating sugary foods had no effect on contributing to acne. After doing my own research this has proven to be false, sugar promotes the over growth of Candida (fungus). You might be wondering, what on earth is Candida? Candida is a fungus, which is a form of yeast, and a very small amount of it lives in your mouth and intestines. Its job is to aid with digestion and nutrient absorption. When overproduced Candida breaks down the wall of the intestine and penetrates the bloodstream, releasing toxic byproducts into your body and causing leaky gut. The end result is inflammation in various parts of your body, leading to a wide variety of symptoms like acne, bloating, cramps; fatigue, food sensitivities, achy joints, depression and headaches. This can also lead to many different health problems, ranging from digestive issues to vaginal infections. You can have a blood or urine test taken to have your Candida levels checked.
